Patina Patina PatinaMiller performed as the Lead Player in The Broadway revival of Stephen Schwartz's famed musical of 1972 "Pippin". It was directed by Tony Award winning director Diane Paulus, and also featuring Matthew James Thomas, Andrea Martin and Terrence Mann, "Pippin" received the Tony Award for Best Revival of a Musical at the 67th Annual Tony Awards. Patina took on the role Ben Vereen's character, who is an award-winning actor. She was also adept at executing the movement of Fosse that is so important to the musical. Her performance was recognized with a Tony Award in the category of Outstanding Actress in a Leading Role Musical. The Outer Critics Circle Award was also given to her for Outstanding Actress. Her previous role was Leading actor on stage at American Repertory Theater in "Pippin" between the month of December 2012 until January 2013. Miller made her Broadway debut in the 2011 Broadway season as the gutsy nightclub-singer-turned-nun "Deloris Van Cartier" in the stage adaptation of "Sister Act", which earned her first Tony nomination, as well as Drama Desk, Drama League, and Outer Critics Circle Award nominations for her performance.
